Greetings, Anne !! What an incredibly beautiful (tastefully decorated) space - You have made it a HOME 🏡. From a design perspective, I am amazed at the effect of choosing paint color for the trim rather than the walls. 🤩. Thank you so much for opening your home so generously to your readers. -V. PS …..were you to put up screens or temporary walls in the upstairs for bedrooms, it might be a mid-term solution, which you could implement sooner rather than later…🤔
Thank you so much Virginia! The trim colours were really a gamble, but I think it turned out really well too. Even though it was used a lot in Danish farmhouses of old, you rarely ever see it anymore, so I’m glad you liked it! ❤️
Hello Anne, I’m so pleased to have now subscribed as a paid member to support your writing. I absolutely love your Danish homestead and you’ve inspired me in how I can improve our cottage 🤍 Warmly, Ann
Hi Ann, I just saw that you had ❤️ Thank you so much for your support, it really means a lot! I always love reading your comments and look forward to writing you some more - see you next Sunday!
Of course! I’m afraid to say that I got it of Facebook Marketplace, though. It is an old desk, and unfortunately they do not make them like that anymore, not to my findings at least ❤️
I had a feeling that was the case. No worries, I'll trust that I'll find what I'm looking for in time. (Or maybe I can persuade my husband to build one...)
Loved the video and all the before and after photos. This is making me want to re-do our kitchen ☺️
I love the simple way you renovated everything, you made it lighter and brighter but simple and beautiful 😍 and I loved that you made all those curtains your self ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Melissa! ❤️ I did make all the curtains in the house myself, and for someone with no sewing experience it was quite the undertaking. Glad I did it though, it is a valuable skill to have in a house with many windows and no cabinets!
Your story is most enjoyable and inspiring. My husband and I renovated an 1880’s stone-built Ontario farmhouse many years ago. (We are in our 70’s now.) There was great satisfaction in all of that work, in seeing the improvements.
As always, thank you so much, Catherine Ann ❤️ There really is a great pride and satisfaction to be found when you do it yourselves, and it was a big factor in why we wanted to document everything from the beginning! We want to remember all the work we did, and celebrate it!
As always, I love seeing all the changes you've made and they still inspire me so much! I will never get over the Library! I admire all the work that you and Herluf have done in such a short time and can't wait to see what's next!
I love this house!! Ugh I want a farmhouse like that too

I really love your desk. Do you mind sharing where you got it?
