I used to hate winter and get SAD every year. Then I started leaning into hygge more, and now I absolutely adore winter; it's my favorite time of year. I did a complete 180 because I embraced the joys and comforts of winter that I couldn't previously see because all I did was focus on the negatives. You can do it, too! Just keep working on it. ❤️
Yes, thank you! I truly am trying to learn, but its a hard guilt (the guilt of being non-productive) to un-learn for me, I have found! ❄️ Hopefully one day I will be able to truly embrace the ‘hygge’ of winter
All of my 70+ years, I have struggled mentally, emotionally, physically through Canadian winters, often believing there was something innately wrong with me. February seemed to be the worst in our long dreary Canadian winters. Once SAD became an explanation, it helped me to understand that I wasn’t alone. It’s ok to feel the way that you feel, to be low energy and unmotivated because that is how you are and the way that your body feels. You are at home with your children, not needing to go out of the house to work. You have your lovely children now. Spring comes then the light appears once more.
It is so heartwarming to know that we are not alone in this feeling, even though it might seem like it. Winter too can feel lonely sometimes, but it does not have to ❤️
As always, thank you so much for your comment, Catherine Ann, I really value your perspective
And yes, spring is coming, and I know it will boost my happiness and creativity once more 🌷
🤗 Certain times “suck” (pun intended) and all we can do - or need to do - is Embrace the “suckiness” of them. If you can find a way to rig a single Near Infrared Light Bulb in a lamp and bask in its warmth 10 minutes a-day, you will elevate your sense of Love for Life in the precious vessel that is your body. 🥰 Even just thinking about it works for me 😉. 💕 -V
That is such an amazing tip, Virginia! I remember they had those in northern Norway (where tye sun does not rise in winter) at the University where I studied for my degree. Never thought about getting one for my home, what an excellent idea ❤️ Thank you!
Sounds like a perfect way to have a newborn-Soon enough the work season will be here…
Thank you, Megan ❤️ Hope you are well and cozy this February and are heading well into the Australian autumn.
